"The long nights give way to the light."
Join Courtney and Mary D for a Winter Solstice collaboration between Sky Yoga and Skaneateles Fields—an evening to honor the beginning of winter, step fully into the darkness of the season, and welcome the slow return of light. The solstice is a threshold: a time to soften, to listen, and to rest deeply. Through gentle movement, breath, guided Yoga Nidra, and an immersive sound journey, we’ll clear space within the body and mind and plant quiet intentions for the months ahead.
The Vibe
This is an invitation to linger in winter’s stillness rather than rush past it. Expect warmth, coziness, and grounded magic—an experience designed to soothe your nervous system, open energetic pathways, and support you in meeting the dark with steadiness and trust.
The Practice
We’ll begin at the Lodge with welcome tea and a soft landing. Settle in, then move through gentle, nourishing movement and breathwork to unwind the body and prepare for rest. From there, melt into a guided Yoga Nidra practice—meeting the inner landscape with ease—while surrounded by waves of sound that invite you to dwell in the quiet, restore, and dream.
We’ll reawaken slowly, then gather at Skaneateles Fields for a holiday cocktail or mocktail to celebrate the turning of the season. Guests also have the option to book a room for the evening at a special rate. Book your room here [INSERT LINK HERE]
Sound Journey
The Sound Journey supports a meditative, receptive state through the vibrations of sacred instruments, including a Sound Creation Gong, Crystal Alchemy Bowls, chimes, and a rain stick. Sound helps quiet the mind, soften the body, and guide you into a deep sense of inner spaciousness.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra, often called yogic sleep, is a deeply restful guided meditation practiced lying down in savasana. You’ll be led through peaceful visualization and relaxation, inviting both mind and body into a state of profound restoration. This practice is open to all levels. Please bring any extra layers or props that help you feel warm, cozy, and fully supported.
The Community
Open to all bodies and all levels—no experience necessary. Options and modifications will be offered throughout so you can make the practice your own.
